It took me nearly 52 years to wake up…how long will it take you? I write this having just finished a
nursing shift in Intensive Care. I have been nursing longer than I care to think but what has amazed
me over the years is how sicker my patients are getting. Yes, we have the technology to keep
critically ill people alive more than we did when I was a junior nurse. But there is way more to it than
that. For the first time in my nursing career, we are getting more and more bariatric patients. These
people are so large they require special beds, chairs, trolleys to transport and care for them on. We
have patients that no longer actually fit into out CT scans. I am seeing more and more younger
people with coronary heart disease. They tell me they eat “low fat” diets but cannot lose the weight.
I used to think they were kidding me. But now I am waking up, I realise we have all been fooled.

The reason why I am writing this is to help others wake up to the fact you have been conned. We are
sicker in this country more than ever…if you don’t believe me, you just need to take a walk through
an intensive care unit. People who have eaten what they have been lead to believe is good for them
are getting sick.

I am not a researcher. I haven’t done any randomised, double blind trials. I haven’t written books
or stood on podiums to talk to thousands of people. I am an intensive care nurse and a nurse
educator. That is it. I am seeing this with my own two eyes. I first heard of Dave Asprey about a year
ago. Initially I was like most people. I was unconscious to the damage sugar and a high carbohydrate,
low fat diet was doing to my body. But Dave actually made sense….and other people were talking
the same language. I teach anatomy and physiology. How could I have been so blind? As an obedient
nurse, I learned all about the food pyramid and the benefits of a low fat diet. I have been teaching
nurses and patients this for about 30 years! But that stopped a year ago. Now, having experienced
the changes a Bulletproof diet can give me, I am convinced. And I am attempting to help others wake
up in order for them to take more responsibility for their health. Before they end up in intensive
care!

Our brain tissue is largely fat. It needs fat to function. Our cell membranes are largely fat. Healthy
fats are essential for normal neurological functioning. I need all the brain cells I can get! So the best
thing to do as you are ageing is to nourish them, not starve them with a low fat diet! I am just asking
you to trust me on this. Give it a go. Look and listen to Dave’s podcast “The Bulletproof Executive”
and others from “The Wellness Couch” that are sharing their knowledge and stories.

Knowledge is power. It’s time to take responsibility for your health and for your life before it’s too
late. It’s taken me over half of my life. But it’s never too late to start. There are many who would like
you to remain unconscious. The choice is yours. But don’t die wondering.

May the force be with you!
