Primeadine (Spermidine)

Primeadine® is the purest spermidine supplement on the market, with zero fillers or flow agents.

  • Primeadine provides you with 1mg standardised spermidineper serving, tested in every batch to guarantee you are getting the same amount in every capsule. 90 capsules per bottle (3 x 30 servings).

    1. To prevent oxidation and the presence of potentially rancid omega 6’s, the wheat germ extract is defatted and, again, tested for purity and potency.

    2. A special type of maltodextrin that is acting as a prebiotic fibre and resistant starch that will selectively feed the fuso- and bacterioides bacteria in the gut biome, both of which produce spermidine. The idea behind it is to increase both supplemental, exogenous spermidine as well as your own body's ability to produce endogenous spermidine.

    3. No fillers or flow agents

    What is spermidine?

Spermidine is a potent polyamine, known for inducing autophagy, which is the body's cellular renewal and recycling process that slows as we age. High Spermidine content has been found in dry soy bean, chicken liver, green peas, corn, shell fish, and blue cheese and most meat products (like sausages, pork, chicken, and turkey), some vegetables (like pumpkin), and cheese. (2)

Supplementation with spermidine in humans has been shown to support cognition (3) and heart health, promote hormonal balance and improve hair growth and fullness (including eyelashes and eyebrows), and strengthen nails.

Epidemiological studies have correlated higher spermidine levels with longer life.(4Although polyamine levels decline in a complex age-dependent, tissue-, and cell type-specific manner, they are maintained in healthy nonagenarians and centenarians(1).

The gut biome and our tissues produce 2/3 of our body's spermidine. This is known as 'endogenous production'. The final third comes 'exogenously' or externally from our diet.

As we age, spermidine production in our tissues and gut biome begins to fall, reducing autophagy, and therefore reduced rate of cellular renewal.

Spermidine inhibits 6 of the 9 Hallmarks of Ageing

    Stem Cell Exhaustion

Stem cells lose their ability to divide as we age, and we are unable to replace cells that have migrated, differentiated, or died. As a result, we show outward symptoms of aging, such as gray hair.

    Mitochondrial Dysfunction

As cells age, their mitochondria start to lose their integrity due to the build-up of oxidative stress. Compromised mitochondrial function leads to a number of adverse events, such as increased apoptosis induction, that correlate with aging.

    Telomere Shortening

Shortened telomeres are associated with aging cells that are senescent. As cells divide, the telomere ends of chromosomes get shorter. Eventually, telomerase gets silenced and the telomeres are too short for cells to divide.

    Epigenetic Alterations

As cells are exposed to environmental factors, they are subject to changes in their genome through epigenetic mechanisms. Such changes accumulate over time and have been correlated with the decline observed in aging cells.

    Altered Extracellular Communication

As cells age, they show an increase in self-preserving signals that result in damage elsewhere. Altered extracellular communication with aging contributes to decline in tissue health.

    Loss of Proteostasis

As cells age, environmental stresses add up and mechanisms responsible for maintaining proper protein composition start to decline. Proteins lose their stability, autophagic processes start to fail, and misfolded proteins accumulate.

  • Ingredients

    • Concentrated wheat germ extract (GLUTEN) containing 1mg of supplemental, exogenous spermidine. Defatted to prevent the oils in wheat germ from going rancid.
    • Maltodextrin (FOS/prebiotic): acts as a prebiotic fiber and resistant starch that will selectively feed the fuso- and bacterioides bacteria in your gut biome, both of which produce spermidine. This is to support your gut biome's own ability to produce its own spermidine.
    • Hypromellose (plant cellulose capsule). Vegan.

It is best to build up to a full, 3 capsule dosage over 3 consecutive days. Take 1 capsule with liquid at mealtime on Day 1, 2 capsules with liquid at mealtime on Day 2 and 3 capsules with liquid at mealtime on Day 3. If you experience discomfort at any time, reduce your dosage by 1 capsule until you reach tolerance and slowly build up to the 3 capsule daily dosage.

You can also open the capsules and mix the contents with a cold or room temperature drink or smoothie.

Our spermidine supplement contains concentrated wheat germ and is not suitable for individuals with Celiac disease or wheat allergy. It may not be suitable for individuals diagnosed with SIBO. Please consult your healthcare practitioner.
