This hot chocolate is a beautiful, rich and creamy hot drink made from real food ingredients. A perfect pick me up whenever you feel you need it.

 

Ingredients

Serves 2

  • 1 – 1 ½ chocolate powder
  • 2 Tbsp Grass fed ghee
  • A pinch of Himalayan salt
  • 1 ½ cups organic coconut cream
  • ½ cup of boiling filtered water
  • Raw honey, pure maple syrup or liquid stevia to taste
  • Peppermint essential oil (food grade) to taste
  • Vanilla powder, sprinkled on top

Optional Extras: 1 Tbsp of grass-fed gelatin (bloomed), for the hot chocolate version only.

Method

  1. Add all ingredients (but the essential oil and sweetener) to a small saucepan on low to medium heat and stir to combine.
  2. Then remove from the heat and pour the mixture into a blender or thermomix with peppermint oil and sweetener of choice to taste. Blitz the mixture for 30 seconds to 1 minute until well combined and frothy.
  3. Pour into mugs, sprinkle with Vanilla powder and enjoy! Alternatively you can pour over ice and enjoy as a cold, refreshing beverage.
