What is activated charcoal?
Activated charcoal is carbon that has been processed to create a highly-porous structure. It is used as a food additive (INS 153) in a range of products including baked goods, ice creams, and beverages, both for its colour and its physical characteristics.
Why coconut shells?
Coconut shells are a sustainable source material for activated charcoal production. Different source materials produce activated charcoals with slightly different physical characteristics.
Any side effects to be aware of?
Activated charcoal may cause temporary darkening of stools (this is harmless). At high doses, it may cause constipation in some individuals. If this occurs, reduce the amount taken or discontinue use.

Been taking these bulletproof coconut charcoal capsules for a while now whenever I need that extra boost.
