setting goals for life

On Setting Goals for Life - or - How I Became Disillusioned with Traditional Education at Age Seven.

The first time someone asked me to set a goal for myself I was in primary school.  My classmates and I were asked to first define a baseline standard of our current achievements in all of our subjects, which we were expected to then exceed over the next term.  Perhaps this was an attempt to introduce self-regulation and discipline into our fresh young minds; to make us aware of our potential and teach us how we could achieve that with hard work.  There was just one small problem. I was a really smart kid.

neurofeedback

On Neurofeedback - or - The Pursuit of Creative Genius.

Neurofeedback was first utilised in the 1970s as a treatment for epilepsy: a neurological disorder characterised by seizures, wherein neurons exhibit abnormal activity by grouping together and firing excessively with synchronicity. Due to positive results, the scope of treatment began to expand. However the system was created before we had the computer power to utilize it to its full potential… and only recently have those technological advances occurred to the extent that we can now bring this treatment to the mass market. You can even purchase a system yourself, for home use. The only specialised education you require is in learning how the software works, and where to place the electrodes.

bulletproof diet

Bulletproof Diet and Weight Loss

Back in April 2012 I was on the tail end of a debaucherous Fiji holiday (which was precluded by a stressful time at work so I hadn’t been taking v. good care of myself in the weeks leading up to it either - it happens from time to time!), being a fairly impatient person I felt like I needed a bit of a jump start to get back into the swing of things. Enter the Bulletproof Diet “Rapid Fat Loss Protocol”…

Feeling fairly stress free on the tail end of the holiday the idea was to use the RFLP as a way to jumpstart my way back into a healthy physical state. The diet is basically a cyclic ketogenic diet with some systems thinking put into supplementation and food quality to ensure that it isn’t unnecessarily stressful on your body and also to address vitamin/mineral deficiencies that appear when you limit your diet to butter coffee and MCT oil.
