Chlorella

A single-celled freshwater green algae. Cultivated in outdoor pools in Okinawa. Contributes to the natural spermidine content of the blend and provides a range of naturally-occurring nutrients.

Shikuwasa Skin (Citrus depressa)

A small green citrus fruit native to Okinawa and Taiwan, traditionally used in Okinawan cuisine. The skin naturally contains nobiletin, a polymethoxylated flavone characteristic of citrus peel. Contributes to the polyamine content of the blend.

Turmeric Root (Curcuma longa)

A rhizome from the ginger family, widely used as a culinary spice and food ingredient. Sourced from Okinawa. Contributes naturally-occurring curcuminoids to the blend.

Directions for Use

Take 2 capsules daily, preferably before 2pm.

Capsules can be swallowed whole with water, or opened and the contents mixed into a cold or room-temperature drink or smoothie.

Refer to the bottle label for full directions. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.

What is a polyamine?

Polyamines are small organic compounds made up of carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen, with multiple amine (nitrogen-containing) groups. They are present in all living cells and naturally occur in a wide range of dietary foods. Spermidine and putrescine are two members of the polyamine family.

What is Shikuwasa?

Shikuwasa (Citrus depressa) is a small green citrus fruit native to Okinawa and Taiwan. It has a tart, tangy flavour and has been used in Okinawan cuisine for centuries in dishes, juices, and seasonings. The skin, used in Primeadine GF, is naturally rich in nobiletin (a polymethoxylated flavone).

Why sourced from Okinawa?

Oxford Healthspan chose Okinawa as the sourcing and manufacturing region for the GF formula because it grows and cultivates all three whole-food ingredients (chlorella, Shikuwasa, turmeric) locally. This allows the blend to be produced end-to-end from a single geographical region.

Is this product suitable for vegans?

Yes. All three ingredients (chlorella, Shikuwasa, turmeric) are plant-based, and the capsule shell is vegetable cellulose (hypromellose). Suitable for both vegans and vegetarians.

How does the spermidine content compare to food?

1.2 mg of spermidine per serve is roughly comparable to eating a modest amount of high-spermidine foods such as aged blue cheese, mushrooms, or wheat germ. Because polyamine content varies significantly between foods and even between batches of the same food, supplements like this offer a consistent per-serve amount.

Can I take this alongside other supplements?
