About Glutathione

Glutathione is a tripeptide composed of three amino acids: glutamic acid (glutamate), cysteine, and glycine. It is produced naturally by the body and is one of the most abundant intracellular molecules.

Glutathione exists in two forms in the body:

Reduced glutathione (GSH) — the active form
Oxidised glutathione (GSSG) — the inactive form

This supplement supplies reduced glutathione (GSH) — the active form.

Dietary sources of glutathione (and its precursor amino acids) include foods such as asparagus, avocado, spinach, okra, broccoli, and certain meats and fish. The body also produces glutathione endogenously from precursor amino acids supplied through diet.

What “Liposomal” Means

A liposome is a tiny spherical structure formed from phospholipids — the same kind of fat-based molecules that make up the membranes of human cells. In a liposomal supplement, the active ingredients are encapsulated within these phospholipid spheres.

Glutathione is generally poorly absorbed in standard oral supplement formats because the digestive process breaks down the tripeptide structure before it can be utilised. Liposomal formulations of glutathione are designed to protect the molecule during digestion.

The phospholipid carrier in this formula is derived from sunflower lecithin (not soy lecithin), making it suitable for those avoiding soy.

Bulletproof Glutathione

I've only just started taking these capsules and I feel that it is too early to write about wonderful results. That said, prior to purchasing Bulletproof I was feeling pretty desperate about my state of health and had been researching for "the magic bullet" back to feeling well again. I don't think it is my imagination but I think I can detect the beginnings of a slow recovery. I suspect that I won't have a definite report to provide on Bulletproof for about three months.
