What It Is

Sulforaphane is a plant compound found naturally in cruciferous vegetables — broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, kale, cabbage, and watercress. It occurs at highest concentrations in young broccoli sprouts.

In whole cruciferous vegetables, sulforaphane is not present as a free compound. It exists as a precursor (glucoraphanin) that is converted to sulforaphane by an enzyme (myrosinase) when the plant tissue is cut, chewed, or otherwise damaged. This is why chopping broccoli and letting it rest before cooking is often recommended.

VitalityIQ™ Sulforaphane uses Sulfodyne® — a patented broccoli seed extract that supplies sulforaphane in its stabilised, active form rather than as a precursor. Broccoli sprout powder is also included in the formulation, providing whole-food plant material alongside the standardised extract.
