What It Is
Primeadine® Original Powder is a whole-food extract supplement made from concentrated, defatted wheat germ sourced in Japan. It is supplied as a fine powder designed to be mixed into food or drinks.
Each 1-gram serving provides:
- Approximately 1mg of naturally-occurring spermidine from concentrated wheat germ extract
- Co-occurring polyamines — spermine and putrescine — that are naturally present alongside spermidine in wheat germ
The powder is designed to be added to room-temperature or warm food and drinks (below 40°C / 104°F) such as smoothies, yoghurt, shakes or breakfast bowls.
About Spermidine
Spermidine is a small molecule belonging to a class of compounds called polyamines. It occurs naturally in many foods, including wheat germ, soybeans, mushrooms, aged cheeses, peas, and natto. Spermidine is also produced endogenously by the human body.
Spermidine supplementation as a category in dietary supplements is relatively new, having emerged primarily in the past decade.
About the Source Material
Oxford Healthspan’s Primeadine® Original is made from wheat germ concentrated and defatted in Japan. The defatting process helps maintain ingredient stability and shelf life by removing the unstable fats (polyunsaturated fatty acids) that occur naturally in wheat germ.
Because the product uses concentrated wheat germ rather than isolated spermidine, the spermidine content is supplied alongside the other naturally-occurring polyamines (spermine and putrescine) and the broader compound profile of the wheat germ.

What does it taste like?
Mild and neutral. The defatted wheat germ extract has a subtle, slightly nutty character that mixes cleanly into most foods and drinks without significantly altering flavour.
Why “whole-food” rather than isolated spermidine?
Primeadine® uses concentrated wheat germ rather than chemically synthesised or isolated spermidine. This means the spermidine is delivered in the same compound matrix it naturally exists in — alongside the other polyamines (spermine, putrescine) and trace components found in wheat germ.
Why defatted?
The natural fats in wheat germ are predominantly polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), which oxidise quickly and can affect product stability and shelf life. Removing them improves the supplement’s stability.
Powder vs capsules
Oxford Healthspan also produces Primeadine® Original in capsule form. The powder format suits those who prefer to add ingredients to their existing meals or smoothie routine. The capsule format suits those who prefer not to deal with measuring or mixing.
