Sialylated HMOs (3′SL and 6′SL)

HMOs — human milk oligosaccharides — are a class of complex carbohydrates naturally present in human breast milk. They are not digestible by humans in the conventional sense; instead, they reach the colon largely intact, where they have been studied as prebiotic substrates.

3′SL (3′-sialyllactose) and 6′SL (6′-sialyllactose) are two of the sialylated HMOs — meaning they contain a sialic acid component. They are produced through fermentation processes for use in supplement formulations.

Phosphatidylserine (PS)

Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid — a fat-based molecule — that occurs naturally in the membranes of cells throughout the body. It is found in trace amounts in some foods, including soybeans, white beans, sunflower seeds and some animal-derived foods.

B-Vitamin Complex

The B-vitamin complex in this formula contributes to multiple normal physiological functions. B-vitamins as a group contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal nervous system function, and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. What does “HMO” stand for?

HMO stands for human milk oligosaccharides — a class of complex carbohydrates naturally found in human breast milk. The HMOs in adult supplement formulations are produced through controlled fermentation processes (not extracted from breast milk).

What’s the difference between 3′SL and 6′SL?

Both 3′SL and 6′SL are sialylated HMOs containing a sialic acid component. The difference lies in the structural position of the sialic acid attachment, which affects their molecular properties. This formula contains both.

Is this product suitable for children?

No. This product is formulated for adult use only. The HMO inclusion in this formula is dosed for adult dietary supplementation, not for paediatric use.
