100% Caprylic Acid (C8) MCT Oil · 90mL Travel Bottle

Bulletproof® Brain Octane® C8 MCT Oil — 90mL Travel Size

A 100% pure caprylic acid (C8) medium-chain triglyceride oil in a pocket-sized travel bottle. Same product as the larger sizes, in a format suited to carry-on travel, single-user portioning, or trialing MCT oil for the first time.

90mL bottle · ~6 servings (1 tablespoon each) · Available in 1-pack, 2-pack, and 3-pack.

Key Points

  • Travel-friendly size — 90mL is under the 100mL carry-on liquid limit for most airlines
  • 100% caprylic acid (C8) — same C8 MCT oil as the 414mL and 946mL sizes, in a smaller bottle
  • Made from coconut oil — the C8 fraction is separated through fractional distillation
  • Odorless and flavourless — blends into hot and cold drinks without altering taste
  • Ketogenic-friendly — suits low-carb and ketogenic dietary patterns; pure fat, zero carbohydrate
  • Available in 1-pack, 2-pack, or 3-pack — use the selector above

What It Is

This is the 90mL travel size of Bulletproof Brain Octane Oil — a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil containing only C8 (caprylic acid). Same product as the 414mL bottle and the 946mL bottle, in a format designed for travel, on-the-go use, or single-serve portioning.

Under the 100mL liquid limit for most airlines’ carry-on baggage rules, so you can take it with you rather than leaving it at home. Also useful if you make Bulletproof Coffee at the office and want a dedicated bottle to keep at work.

No added vitamins, no fillers, no preservatives. The bottle contains one ingredient: caprylic acid MCT oil.

Sourcing & Processing

Source: Coconut oil, from responsibly harvested coconuts.

Processing: The C8 caprylic acid fraction is separated from the rest of the coconut oil through fractional distillation (heat + pressure differentials, no chemical solvents).

What’s left out: Lauric acid (C12), C10 caprate, longer-chain saturated fats, and non-triglyceride components.

How to Use

Same use cases as the larger sizes:

  • In coffee — as the MCT oil component of the Bulletproof Coffee recipe
  • In smoothies — blends without altering flavour
  • In salad dressings — substitutes for other oils
  • Drizzled on food — over steamed vegetables, soups, or fatty meats after cooking
  • Cold uses — not recommended for high-heat frying

Start small. If you’re new to MCT oil, begin with 1 teaspoon (5mL) per day and increase gradually. Taking too much too quickly is a common cause of digestive discomfort.

The Bulletproof Coffee Recipe

"Bulletproof Coffee" combines brewed coffee with grass-fed butter (or ghee) and MCT oil, blended to a creamy consistency.

Bulletproof Coffee Preparation

  1. Brew 2 cups of Bulletproof coffee
  2. Combine with 2 tablespoons of grass-fed butter (or grass-fed ghee)
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of Brain Octane Oil (this product)
  4. Blend in a high-speed blender or with an Aerolatte® frother
  5. Pour and drink while hot

Good to Know

Can I take this on a plane?

At 90mL, this bottle is under the 100mL liquid limit that applies to carry-on baggage on most airlines. Place it in your clear resealable bag with your other liquids. If you’re carrying multiple bottles (e.g. the 2-pack or 3-pack), remember the total liquid limit for carry-on is generally 1L combined — check with your specific airline if in doubt.

Which pack size should I get?

The 1-pack is enough for a short trip or a first trial. The 2-pack works for longer travel or for keeping a spare. The 3-pack is a small bulk-buy at a slight discount. If you use MCT oil daily at home, the 414mL or 946mL bottles work out cheaper per mL.

How is this different from coconut oil?

Coconut oil is roughly 62% medium-chain triglycerides mixed with longer-chain fats; only about 8% of it is C8 caprylic acid. Brain Octane isolates the C8 fraction only. It’s liquid at room temperature and flavourless, whereas coconut oil is solid below ~24°C and tastes distinctly of coconut.

Why does it get cloudy in the fridge?

MCT oil can thicken or cloud when cold. This is normal. Once returned to room temperature the oil clears and thins again. This does not affect the quality or shelf life.
