About Zinc
Zinc is an essential trace mineral the body cannot produce on its own and must obtain through diet. It’s found naturally in foods including red meat, oysters, pumpkin seeds, legumes, and dairy — though dietary intake can vary considerably depending on eating patterns.

Why Three Forms of Zinc
Most zinc supplements use a single form of zinc. This product combines three forms, each chelated to a different organic acid:
Zinc Picolinate
Zinc bonded to picolinic acid (a naturally-occurring compound). Picolinate is one of the more widely-used chelated zinc forms in supplements.
Zinc Citrate
Zinc bonded to citric acid. Permitted under FSANZ Standard 1.3.1 (E591). One of the most commonly-used zinc forms in food supplementation.
Zinc Acetate
Zinc bonded to acetic acid. A water-soluble zinc form widely used in supplement formulations.

Why combine three forms of zinc?
Different zinc forms have slightly different chemical profiles and behaviour during digestion. Combining picolinate, citrate, and acetate gives the formula a broader profile than a single-form zinc supplement. The total elemental zinc per capsule is the same regardless of source distribution — 30 mg combined.
What does "% NRV" mean?
NRV stands for Nutrient Reference Value — the reference intake set by the NHMRC (Australian National Health and Medical Research Council) for nutrients. For zinc, the AU NRV is 14 mg/day for adult men and 8 mg/day for adult women, with an Upper Level of 40 mg/day from supplemental sources.
Should I take it with copper?
Long-term zinc supplementation at higher doses can affect copper levels in the body, as the two minerals share absorption pathways. If you’re taking zinc daily over an extended period, consider speaking with a qualified healthcare practitioner about whether copper supplementation may be appropriate for you.
What about the PerfectAmino® blend?
The 25 mg PerfectAmino blend is a small inclusion of BodyHealth’s branded essential amino acid formulation. The standalone PerfectAmino product contains the full functional dose (2,500 mg per serve); the inclusion in this Zinc product is at a much lower level.
Can I take this with food?
Yes — zinc can be taken with or without food. Some people find taking zinc on an empty stomach causes mild stomach upset, in which case taking it with a small meal can help.
