About PerfectAmino

PerfectAmino is BodyHealth’s proprietary blend of essential amino acids — the amino acids that cannot be synthesised by the human body and must be obtained from food or supplementation. The blend was formulated by Dr David Minkoff in proportions intended to provide the amino acid building blocks the body uses to synthesise its own proteins.

The essential amino acids in the blend are:

L-Leucine
L-Valine
L-Isoleucine
L-Lysine Hydrochloride
L-Phenylalanine
L-Threonine
L-Methionine
L-Tryptophan
L-Histidine

Refer to the product label for the complete amino acid profile and per-serve amounts. The blend is sourced from non-animal raw materials (vegetable origin) and produced through fermentation in a cGMP-certified facility in the USA.

Free-Form Amino Acid Absorption

Unlike protein from food sources (where amino acids are bound up in larger protein structures that require digestion before being absorbed), free-form amino acids are presented to the body in their already-broken-down form. This typically allows for faster absorption than whole food protein sources.

BodyHealth’s research on PerfectAmino indicates that the blend is absorbed within an average of 23–30 minutes from ingestion, with high utilisation rates. This makes the product useful as an amino acid intake taken around training sessions, or during periods when whole-food protein consumption is impractical.

The product is intended as a convenient delivery format for essential amino acids in active individuals, not as a replacement for a balanced diet.

Additional Components

In addition to the essential amino acids, the PerfectAmino Drink Powder formula includes nucleic acid building blocks:

Uridine
Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP)
Thymidine
Adenine
2′-Deoxyadenosine
2′-Deoxyguanosine
2′-Deoxycytidine

These are the molecular building blocks of DNA and RNA. They are included in the formula as part of BodyHealth’s approach to providing comprehensive cellular-level nutritional components.

Directions for Use

Mix 1 scoop with 250–500mL of water (or other beverage of choice). Stir or shake until dissolved. Consume soon after mixing.

Around training: May be consumed approximately 30 minutes before training, during a training session, or afterwards as part of routine amino acid intake.

Daily intake guidance: Refer to the product label for daily intake recommendations. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.

Note: The manufacturer recommends taking PerfectAmino with fruits, vegetables, or grains rather than with fats or proteins. If consuming additional fats or proteins, wait at least 30 minutes after taking PerfectAmino.

Powder vs Tablet Format

PerfectAmino is also available in tablet form. Both formats deliver the same essential amino acid blend.

Drink Powder (this product) — Flavoured beverage option in 8 variants. Mix into water. Useful around training sessions and for users who prefer beverages over swallowing tablets.
Original Tablets — Pure PerfectAmino in tablet form, no flavouring or sweeteners. Travel-friendly. Best for users who want the cleanest delivery format.
Coated Tablets — Same active blend with a vegetable-based coating for easier swallowing.

Related product: PerfectAmino Electrolytes combines a lower amino acid dose (2g per serve) with added electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium, zinc) for around-training hydration. The PerfectAmino Drink Powder (this product) is a higher amino acid dose without added electrolytes.

Many users combine the powder and tablet formats — powder around training, tablets for travel or higher daily intake targets.

Good to Know

Are the amino acids from animal or vegetable source?

The amino acids in PerfectAmino are derived from plant-based sources (beans and peas) processed through a fermentation culture. Individual amino acids are then extracted from the fermentation broth using centrifugal separation. The final product is pure, pharmaceutical-grade, crystalline amino acids with no plant residues, no sugars, no yeast, no gluten, no soy, no corn, no wheat, no rice, no preservatives, no excipients, and no animal products. Suitable for vegan diets.

Which flavour should I choose?

All flavoured variants share the same amino acid blend; the choice is purely flavour preference. Strawberry and Mixed Berry are the most popular based on customer feedback. Mocha contains 20mg of natural caffeine from green tea — if you’re sensitive to caffeine or consuming this in the evening, choose another flavour. The Unflavoured & Unsweetened variant is the cleanest option for users following strict no-sweetener protocols or who want to add the powder to other beverages.

Does this break a fast?

The product contains approximately 2 calories per serve with no carbohydrates or sugar. Whether free-form amino acids technically break a fast depends on the specific fasting protocol you’re following — some intermittent fasting approaches permit EAAs, others do not. Consult your protocol’s rules. The Unflavoured & Unsweetened variant is the cleanest option for strict fasting.

How is this different from BCAAs?

Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) contain only three amino acids: leucine, isoleucine, and valine. PerfectAmino contains all the essential amino acids in proportions designed for protein synthesis. The body requires all the essential amino acids — not just the three branched-chain ones — to build proteins.

Does this product interact with any medications?

BodyHealth states that PerfectAmino does not have known drug or food interactions. However, if you take prescription medication or have a medical condition, consult your healthcare practitioner before use. People taking medications affecting protein metabolism, kidney function, or amino acid balance should be particularly cautious.

Can I take this alongside whole-food protein?

The manufacturer recommends not combining PerfectAmino with other protein supplements at the same time. The reasoning given is that this may interfere with the rapid utilisation profile of free-form amino acids. Wait at least 30 minutes between PerfectAmino and protein-containing meals.

Is this product suitable during pregnancy?

As a Formulated Supplementary Sports Food, this product is not suitable for pregnant women, women planning pregnancy, or women breastfeeding without medical or dietetic supervision. Consult your healthcare practitioner before use.

Body Health Perfect Amino XP 120 servings Mixed Berries Mixed

I have been taking Perfect Amino XP since last year November 2021 ! My first tub( one) I ordered directly from BodyHealth USA! They had the 120 servings which nobody in Australia had . I'm glad that Optimoz is now stocking the 120 servings . Because importing it myself was costing me too much money for shipping costs.
I bought two large tubs of 120 servings of Perfect Amino XP from Optimoz. When I ran out last year I was feeling tired , hunger pangs and poor muscle mass! Ever since I've been on it again my energy levels are up again and my hunger pangs are controlled don't feel hungry anymore . I highly recommend OptimOz their a great company to deal customer service is second to none , I will be ordering my Perfect Amino XP again once I start running low ! In conclusion I take four scoops a day and one scoop before I go to bed! Very effective Amino Acids which get absorbed 99.9% and 1,% waste . So your getting the full benefits !

High quality, and easy to take

I’m not usually a powdered supplement fan, but this was easy to take. I like it mixed with a little bit of yogurt but definitely notice the difference compared to when I didn’t take it for a week in terms of gym performance and muscle recovery

Game Changer

I've been wanting the perfect amino product for ages, found it at a great price, was shipped super fast and I absolutely love it. After trying other brands this one takes the cake. I drink it every morning and don't even want coffee - which I never thought was possible. Will definitely be a repeat buyer. Honestly was such a good purchase. Highly recommend.

Perfect selection of biohacking products

Amazing selection of some of the best supplements available in Australia. They stock a lot of products that are usually only available in the US and are otherwise hard to find here. I've been buying from Optimoz for over 4 years, and it's been my go-to store for most of my supplement needs. Their service is always excellent, orders are processed quickly, and delivery is consistently on time. Great range, reliable service, and an all-around fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

Exactly what I was after

Easy to drink perfect aminos

Easy to drink, I was surprised at how unlike it was to previous protein drinks I've used (this is a lot thinner and doesn't leave my shaker smelling absolutely foul if I can't wash it out straight away. A nice way to get a does of perfect aminos in a non-tablet form, and I'm looking forward to trying the other flavours.

I wouldn’t start my day without it 😃😍

Perfect Protein

Definitely a favourite of mine recommended by Dr. Gary Breaka and will continue to order this. The Lemon and Lime is certainly a great flavour.

This is great for recovery, energy, muscle, hair, mood regulation, food cravings, sleep, it's great for many things...it's been a game changer for me in how I think about protein.

It is the best

I love the taste and the effect of this powder. No other protein powder comes close. A subtle energy shift and all the things you want from a protein powder. I won’t be changing brands anytime soon.

Tastes good and versatile

Simple to mix, versatile and taste good when combined with greens, coffee etc

Can’t stand the taste

I received the Strawberry flavour and to me, it tastes like fluoride the dentist uses. I couldn’t stand it, I tried mixing in with other drinks but it didn’t make a difference.
But the service received was amazing! Fast shipping and when I enquired about a satisfaction guarantee, they swapped the power over for the perfect amino tablets which are so much better!

Great product

I take Perfect Amino as part of morning routine. Even before my coffee. I enjoy the taste of Perfect Amino. and the way they dissolve easily.

Quick turn around

I like the fact that from time of order to delivery is about 4-5 days.
