Bulletproof InnerFuel Prebiotic is a powdered dietary fibre supplement combining three plant-derived prebiotic fibre ingredients:

Organic Acacia Gum — soluble fibre from the sap of Acacia senegal and Acacia seyal trees
Guar Fibre (PHGG) — partially hydrolysed guar gum, a soluble fibre derived from guar beans (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba)

About the Prebiotic Fibres

Organic Acacia Gum

Acacia gum (also called gum arabic) is a soluble dietary fibre extracted from the dried sap of the Acacia senegal and Acacia seyal trees, which are native to North Africa. It is one of the oldest commercial food ingredients in continuous use — acacia gum has been harvested and traded for thousands of years and is widely used in the food industry as a thickener and stabiliser.

Guar Fibre (PHGG)

Partially hydrolysed guar gum (PHGG) is a soluble dietary fibre derived from the guar bean (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba), a legume native to South Asia. The partial hydrolysis process breaks down the long-chain guar gum into shorter molecules, which reduces viscosity and improves mixability in liquids compared to standard guar gum.

Larch Arabinogalactan

Larch arabinogalactan is a soluble fibre extracted from the bark and heartwood of the larch tree (Larix species), which grows across North America, Europe and Asia. It is a recognised food ingredient with a long history of use in dietary supplements and food applications.

What Prebiotics Are

Prebiotics are a category of dietary fibre that resists digestion in the upper digestive tract and reaches the large intestine intact. Once in the large intestine, prebiotic fibres serve as a fermentable substrate for the natural gut microbiota during their normal metabolic activity.

Prebiotics are distinct from probiotics — probiotics are live bacterial cultures (the bacteria themselves), while prebiotics are fermentable fibres that the bacteria use as food.

All three fibres in InnerFuel are soluble fibres, meaning they dissolve in water and form a gel-like consistency in the digestive tract. Each fibre has slightly different fermentation characteristics, which is why a multi-fibre blend is used rather than a single fibre source.

Directions for Use

Mix 1 scoop daily into approximately 250mL (8 oz) of your favourite beverage. Stir or blend.

If you’re new to prebiotic fibre supplements, start with half a scoop and gradually increase to a full scoop over 1–2 weeks to allow the digestive system to adjust.

Suggested uses: Mix into water, coffee, tea, smoothies, or shakes. Pairs well with Bulletproof Coffee or morning beverages.

Drink plenty of water throughout the day when consuming higher fibre intakes.

Does it taste like anything?

No. The powder is unflavoured and odourless. It dissolves cleanly into beverages without altering the flavour.

Why three different prebiotic fibres?

Different prebiotic fibres have slightly different fermentation characteristics in the gut. Combining acacia gum, guar fibre, and larch arabinogalactan provides a more diverse fermentable substrate profile than any single fibre alone.

Why no sugar or net carbs?

The fibres in this product are non-digestible, meaning the body cannot absorb them as energy. They pass through the upper digestive tract intact and reach the large intestine. This is why the product has 17g of total dietary fibre but 0g of net carbohydrates (and is keto-compatible).

Why start with a smaller dose?

Introducing a large amount of soluble fibre suddenly may cause temporary digestive discomfort (bloating, gas, or loose stools) as the gut microbiota adapts. Starting with a smaller amount and gradually increasing over 1–2 weeks allows the digestive system to adjust.

Can I use it with probiotic supplements?

Yes. Prebiotic fibres and probiotic supplements are commonly used together — this combination is called a “synbiotic” (probiotic + prebiotic). The prebiotic fibres serve as a fermentable substrate that the probiotic bacteria (and the existing gut microbiota) can use.
