Magnesium is one of the body’s essential electrolytes — alongside sodium, potassium, calcium and chloride. It is involved in a large number of biochemical reactions, including processes related to muscle contraction, protein synthesis, and energy production.
Active individuals may have higher magnesium requirements than sedentary individuals, due to increased magnesium turnover during exercise and losses through sweat. The Australian Recommended Dietary Intake (RDI) for magnesium is 310–320mg for adult women and 400–420mg for adult men.
This product provides 325mg of elemental magnesium per serve (77% of the US Daily Value), contributing meaningfully to daily intake when combined with magnesium obtained from a varied diet.

Directions for Use
Mix 1 scoop with 180–240mL (6–8 oz) of water. Stir or shake until dissolved. Consume soon after mixing.
Typical use: One serve per day. May be consumed around training sessions or as part of a daily nutritional intake. Best taken with adequate fluid intake.
For larger doses: Some active individuals may benefit from higher daily magnesium intakes. Spread doses across the day rather than consuming a large amount at once, and consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before substantially exceeding the RDI.
Tolerability: Begin with a half-scoop if you are new to magnesium supplementation, then build up to a full serve as tolerated. Large doses of magnesium may cause loose stools in some individuals.

Why does the product contain 8 different magnesium compounds?
Magnesium is supplied as a salt or complex — magnesium bonded to an acid or amino acid. Different compounds have different solubility, absorption rates and gastrointestinal tolerability profiles. By including a blend of compounds, the formula aims to provide diverse delivery characteristics in a single serve. The total elemental magnesium content remains 325mg per scoop regardless of which compound provides it.
What is katemfe fruit extract (thaumatin)?
Thaumatin is a protein derived from the West African katemfe fruit (Thaumatococcus daniellii). It is intensely sweet (approximately 3000× sweeter than sucrose by weight) but is used in tiny quantities. It is approved as a food additive (INS 957) in Australia and is metabolised as a protein rather than a sugar — meaning it does not contribute to glucose load.
Does the product contain stevia?
No. The product is explicitly stevia-free. It is naturally sweetened with thaumatin (katemfe fruit extract) and the natural sweetness of the included organic fruit powders.
How is this different from the capsule version?
The drink and capsule versions of Magnesium Breakthrough have different formulations. The drink uses fruit powders as a flavour base; the capsule uses a hypromellose capsule shell. The active magnesium forms differ slightly between formats. Refer to the capsule product page for its specific ingredient list.
Can I take this with food?
Yes. Taking magnesium with food may help reduce the likelihood of gastrointestinal effects, particularly for users new to magnesium supplementation.
What if I get loose stools?
Magnesium taken in larger amounts may cause loose stools in some individuals (this is the basis for magnesium’s use as a laxative in higher doses). If this occurs, reduce the serve size to half a scoop and gradually build up as tolerated, or take with food.
Is this product suitable during pregnancy?
