It’s time to add another tool to your box of brain & body optimisation hacks – Kenko Matcha Green Tea.

  • Produced in the Nishio region, this green tea is shade grown to increase L-theanine levels and enhance the natural sweetness. Can be enjoyed on it's own with hot water, or made into a Bulletproof® Matcha Latte or used in a smoothie. Makes me feel relaxed and focused.

30 servings in each tin (I usually have 2-3 per day) of Kenko's Premium Grade Japanese matcha green tea powder. The tea is an intense jade green powder with a delicate sweetness, grassy overtones and very light astringency. It is not bitter like low quality matcha. It whisks to produce a creamy froth and is ideal for daily consumption. Enjoy as a morning pick me up or an any time of day treat.

Before listing this tea for sale, Heavy Metal, Radiation & Pesticide testing results were reviewed and passed inspection.

    Kenko Matcha tea powder provides:

    • Incredibly high antioxidant levels
    • Increased energy without the jittery feeling of low quality caffeine sources
    • Natural metabolism booster

30 grams provides 30 servings (about a 1/2 teaspoon each)

Make at home for a much cheaper than a daily latte fix, and much healthier. Just add hot water.

Comes packaged in an eco-friendly resealable tin that you can re-use.

  • Also try Matcha and Turmeric Tea: a half teaspoon of Matcha and one opened capsule of Organic Turmeric

  • Make a Bulletproof Matcha! An equally energising, sweet, creamy and delicious coffee alternative

    Ingredients:

    • 1 serving of freshly brewed matcha green tea
    • 1/2 Tbsp – 1 Tbsp MCT oil or Brain Octane oil
    • 1/2 - 1 tbs Grass Fed butter or ghee
    • 1 Tbsp Raw Cacao Powder (optional)
    • 1 tsp Maca Powder (optional)
    • 1/8- 1/4 tsp cinnamon (or just a few dashes for a milder cinnamon flavor)
    • pinch of sea salt
    • 1/4 tsp vanilla
    • Optional sweetener: 4 drops of liquid stevia
    Directions:

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend. Or use a portable Aerolatte® for in-cup blending. Enjoy!

Alternative Options: If you want a less rich chocolate taste, use only about 1/2-3/4 Tbsp raw cacao powder and add in 1-2 tsp of plant based vanilla protein powder. You can also add in 1/2 tbsp of grass-fed butter (this is what is used in the original Bulletproof Coffee recipe).

  • Matcha contains roughly 25 mg of caffeine per gram - about a 1/3 of brewed coffee however the synergistic effects of caffeine with L- Theanine produce a much longer lasting energy increase. Green tea or l-theanine is a recommended chaser to a cup of Bulletproof coffee.

As matcha is shaded, it doesn't get it's energy from the sun, It's forced to make up for this deficit by overproducing chlorophyll, l-theanine, glutamates and vitamins etc. It does this with the help of additional fertiliser during the shading process

Matcha contains about 4-5 times the amount of Theanine than regular green tea (20mg vs 4mg per gram) *1-2

drinks containing both caffeine and l-theanine also led to "faster simple reaction time, faster numeric working memory reaction time and improved sentence verification accuracy" *3

L-Theanine Boosts Alpha Waves, Promotes Alert Relaxation *4

The combination of L-theanine and caffeine improves cognitive performance and increases subjective alertness *5

The combination also leads to faster simple reaction time, faster numeric working memory
reaction time and improved sentence verification accuracy. *6

  • While coffee is king when it comes to boosting your brain function, green tea is like a noble prince, or the queen, whichever you prefer. They have different and only somewhat overlapping benefits, so the best option for top performance (and health) is to combine them. - Dave Asprey.
