PureHMO® 2'FL prebiotic is a high-purity bio-identical human milk oligosaccharide. PureHMO is produced by fermentation of dairy lactose and purified to an unprecedented purity of 98%. This superior prebiotic offers more benefits than traditional oligosaccharides like GOS, FOS, and inulin due to its specific structure and unique functionality:

  • Promote Digestive Health: HMO prebiotic promotes the growth of probiotics like Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and supports a healthy gut environment.
  • Support Immune Functions: HMOs are more effective than non-human prebiotics in stimulating the innate immune system, inhibiting pathogens and virus, and blocking inflammation.
  • Improve Cognitive Function: Unlike other prebiotic and probiotic products for adults, HMO metabolites by your gut probiotic bacteria can promote brain development, neuronal transmission, and cognition.
  • 30 x capsule servings (1950mg per serve).
  • HOW DOES HMO PREBIOTIC WORK?

Scientists have identified over 200 different complex sugar molecules, known as human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), in humans. In other mammals there are only about 50. After lactose and fats, these sugars are the third most abundant component in human milk. But humans are missing the enzymes needed to process those sugars so they pass through the stomach and into the small intestine, undigested.

The sugars nourish a very important subspecies of bacteria called Bifidobacterium longum infantis, which then raises the acidity of the substrate as it feeds off of the HMOs.

Inside the gut, this makes the environment more hostile to pathogens like E.Coli. The bacteria B. infantis also boosts production of proteins that close gaps between gut cells to keep microbes out of the bloodstream and increases anti-inflammatory molecules that boost the immune system. To achieve those beneficial results, B. infantis has to feed on HMOs.

    TYPES OF HUMAN MILK OLIGOSACCHARIDES

2'-Fucosyllactose is one type of Human Milk Oligosaccharide. There are more than 200 different types of HMOs in all with 2'-FL as the most abundant variety accounting for about 30% of all HMOs. It is an oligosaccharide - specifically it is fucosylated, neutral trisaccharide composed of L-fucose, D-galactose, and D-glucose units. It can be biosynthesized at scale using E. Coli.

As with other oligosaccharides, a main characteristic of 2'-Fucosyllactose is its ability to protect against infectious disease. It's best known for preventing epithelial level adhesions of toxins and pathogens. The 2'-FL stimulates the growth of bifidobacteria and receptor analogons which leads to toxic and pathogenic protection. 2'-FL is known to protect against Campylobacter jejuni, Salmonella enterica serotype Typhimurium, Helicobacter pylori, and others.

Research into the various health benefits of HMOs has accelerated as more HMO varieties become commercially available at scale. We're ranking benefits based on data and findings in research publications on HMOs. There is extensive researching demonstrating that 2'FL and LNnT provide benefits for gut health. There is some evidence, but not quite as strong, that both 2'FL and LNnT provide benefits for immune health. Brain health is boosted by 2'FL, 3'SL, and 6'SL according to some of the available research. Be sure to choose the right human milk oligosaccharide supplement for you, whether it is a 2'-FL supplement, or one that is a combination — a 2'-Fucosyllactose, Lacto-N-neotetraose supplement.

WHY PICK HMO OVER GOS, FOX, XOS?

Both human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) and prebiotic oligosaccharides (PBOs) belong to the large class of carbohydrates, but they have completely different structures.

Human Milk Oligosaccharides have been growing in popularity in human nutrition since 2015. HMO is naturally found in breast milk and serves as nature's preferred prebiotic. They are produced in the lactating mammary glands

HMO is a special prebiotic that's quite different from GOS, FOS, and XOS because of where it comes from.

Human Milk Oligosaccharide (HMO) consists of complex sugar molecules. Unlike GOS, FOS, and even XOS, which can cause some of same problems people take them to avoid (gas, bloating, IBS sypmtoms), HMO does not have that effect.

When considering the difference be¬tween GOS/FOS and HMOs, two major aspects have to be considered:

    (A) The monosaccharide composition

    (B) The linkage between them. The linkage is very important because specific functions including defense mechanisms, immune functions, or anti-inflammatory effects strongly de-pend on those linkages.

  • HMO PREBIOTIC IN CLINICAL TRIALS

Research has shown that 2'-FL supports the development of a healthy gut and immune system, protection against allergic diseases and plays a role in the development of normal brain functions and cognition in early life and beyond.

2'FL has been shown to be vital for digestive health by promoting growth of beneficial bacteria, inhibit adhesion of pathogens, quenching inflammation and normalizing gut movements.

*HMOs primarily increase a type of intestinal microbiota called Bifidobacteria.

In a study of health adults charting Bifidobacteria fold change over the baseline amount, HMOs were shown to beneficially modulate the intrinsic intestinal microbiota.

The two HMOs tested were 2'FL and LNnT. They were compared to a placebo.
