Make a Bulletproof Matcha! An equally energising, sweet, creamy and delicious coffee alternative
- 1 serving of freshly brewed matcha green tea
- 1/2 Tbsp – 1 Tbsp MCT oil or Brain Octane oil
- 1/2 - 1 tbs Grass Fed butter or ghee
- 1 Tbsp Raw Cacao Powder (optional)
- 1 tsp Maca Powder (optional)
- 1/8- 1/4 tsp cinnamon (or just a few dashes for a milder cinnamon flavor)
- pinch of sea salt
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- Optional sweetener: 4 drops of liquid stevia
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend. Or use a portable Aerolatte® for in-cup blending. Enjoy!
Alternative Options: If you want a less rich chocolate taste, use only about 1/2-3/4 Tbsp raw cacao powder and add in 1-2 tsp of plant based vanilla protein powder. Matcha contains roughly 25 mg of caffeine per gram - about a 1/3 of brewed coffee however the synergistic effects of caffeine with L- Theanine produce a much longer lasting energy increase. Green tea or l-theanine is a recommended chaser to a cup of Bulletproof coffee.
As matcha is shaded, it doesn't get it's energy from the sun, It's forced to make up for this deficit by overproducing chlorophyll, l-theanine, glutamates and vitamins etc. It does this with the help of additional fertiliser during the shading process
