Bulletproof from a Nurse's Perspective Part 11

Well, it’s that time of year again everyone. And what a year 2016 has been! I don’t know about you but MANY people I know have found this year to be a bit tough….a year of endings or things finishing. Not necessarily bad….just quite draining. Needless to say, 2017 will herald a year of new things beginning. Wonderful!

Just to get you through the Xmas and New Year period I hope you all have loaded up on your Brain Octane, ghee and MCT oil aka Brain food. I think they are great gift ideas. People have enough dust collectors... How about giving them something that is really healthy?

My blue light blocker glasses remain one of my faves….I wear them every night that I'm under artificial light. I have spoken about Jack Kruse before…a neurosurgeon who has discovered what he calls “an inconvenient truth.” He challenges all of us medically trained people, as well as anyone interested in their own health, to question what we consider to be expert opinion.

The human body has not evolved as fast as all of our so called technological advances. We have become disconnected from mother earth. We eat artificial food, live most of our days under artificial light and are surrounded by non-native electromagnetic fields. If you seriously believe that all of this is safe for you because “they said so,” I am afraid you are mistaken. Why do you think we are all so tired and drained all the time? We are rapidly moving towards a paperless society. Which means everything will be located on computer screens of some sort. These screens are nothing like broad spectrum sunlight which is healthy for you. These screens emit four times the amount of blue light than that we are exposed to when we go outside. And there is no red light to balance its effect. We are meant to get our blue light in the morning and middle of the day, not at night and not from artificial means.

We have a sleep deprived population whose hormones are completely out of whack. In short, our circadian rhythms are stuffed. Our brain is getting mixed messages from all of this artificial light–which we often overdose on at night. Can’t get your kids to sleep at night? Get some screen protectors or blue light blocker glasses (if they will wear them) to block out the stimulating effects of blue light. We must be able to secrete melatonin at night to signal to the body it is time to rest and repair.

On these holidays, go outside, walk early in the morning in the daylight. Don’t wear sunglasses, glasses or contact lenses. Walk barefoot on the beach. Swim in the electron rich ocean. Reconnect with mother earth. We all know how awesome it feels to do this. Why do we only allow ourselves fleeting times during the year to do it? We need a shift in consciousness. We need to do this more. It should not be a “treat.” You and your loved ones deserve so much better than that.

Merry Xmas one and all! Happy New Year! Love, light, laughter to you all!!!
