Paleo Essentials Kit - Grass Fed Ghee, Organic Turmeric, Great Lakes Gelatine & Macrobiotic Sea Salt.

    Primal Essentials Kit contains:

1X Great Lakes Grass Fed Beef Gelatine - 454g:

Gelatin and related products from Great lakes Gelatin are totally free from gluten. Glutens are the proteins found in wheat, barley and rye flours (all Triticeae plants). Wheat glutens are a problem for a small group of individuals who have allergies to these proteins (primarily for persons suffering from celiac disease). Glutens are plant derived proteins. Gelatin is produced entirely from animals and contains absolutely no gluten.

The raw material used for production of gelatin is the naturally occurring protein collagen which is commercially sourced from the meat industry from healthy animals designated for human consumption. Each stage of the manufacturing process is rigorously controlled in modern laboratories to ensure purity and quality. The process of converting collagen into gelatine involves several cleansing and purification steps. The end result is an off white dry powder of the utmost purity.

    1X Organic Turmeric Capsules - 120 X 800mg:

100% pure organic turmeric powder. Unlike other powdered herbs, organic herbs are not irradiated before entering the country. Irradiation is yet another way the vitality of our food is compromised. The capsules protect the turmeric from mycotoxin contamination meaning they are kept safer from exposure and will have a longer shelf-life. Each bottle contains 120 800mg capsules.

ACO Certified - This means no chemicals were used in any process of harvesting or growing of the turmeric herb

1X Primal Collective Ghee - From Grass Fed, Happy Cows - 314ml:

Primal Collective Ghee by Pepe Saya is a wonder-fat made from fresh, unsalted & cultured butter that is sourced from 100% Australian cream from Country Valley Dairy in Picton, NSW. Ghee is a superfood that has been used for over 5000 years as a staple of Indian cuisine and medicine.

A healthy source of saturated fats. Sourced only from grass-fed cows for a healthier fatty acid profile (see our infographic showing the effect of grass vs grain feeding on the quality of the resulting food.) Benefit from a favourable omega 3:6 ratio, a higher yield of butyrate. CLA's and significant levels of Vitamins A, K and E which are not available from grain-raised cattle.

Lactose & Casein Free. Ghee is made by heating butter to evaporate the water and skimming off the milk solids that rise to the surface. The remaining clarified butter is then double strained through a fine filter colander which removes any remaining impurities and leaves us with a pure and intensely flavourful sweet and nutty ghee which is usually 99% free of potentially inflammatory lactose or casein. A true superfood, it's perfect to try for strict Paleos who want to taste something other than coconut oil. It's also a great option to try if you can't tolerate butter.

High Smoke Point. Because the milk solids have been removed, it has a high smoke point of 230 degrees - perfect for sautes, stir fries, baked goods and your Bulletproof Coffee.

Fresh and Local. Pepe's commercial kitchen is just a 10 minute drive away from us, so we are able to order in small quantities which means you're always going to be receiving ghee that was made no more than 2 weeks ago.

    1X Macrobiotic Sea Salt by Olsson's - 250g

Olsson Industries is the only family-owned and operated company producing salt in Australia. The salt is sourced locally from the Great Barrier Reef. We all know (as paleo people) that salt isn't bad for you, but all salts are not created equal. Refined salts are ~100% sodium chloride (some with iodine added) However even the traditional view on salt (bad for blood pressure) would value the reduced sodium content of Olsson's Macrobiotic salt. So what does this mean for us? Well, less sodium & chloride means more room for minerals - namely magnesium, potassium & calcium. Olsson's Macrobiotic salt is basically a Celtic style sea salt, the difference being that it is made from sea water off the Great Barrier Reef.

  • Here are a few ways to experiment with the stuff in the kitchen:

Turmeric pairs well with fish, often accompanied by little else than salt, pepper, and some lemon juice.

Add a few teaspoons to your chili for a curious subtlety that’ll make tasters scratch their chins and wonder aloud.

Simmer a teaspoon of turmeric and a teaspoon of cardamom in a cup of coconut milk for ten minutes. Remove, strain, and add a dash of cinnamon for a hearty, healthy drink.
